History

Changing the STEM narrative in Uganda!

An independent study conducted from 2015 to 2018 showed that for each of the seven university science courses studied, approximately 2 girls among 10 students were admitted on government merit for each academic year at Makerere University. This gender imbalance neglects the pivotal role played by women’s involvement in sciences in the economic development of the country.

Therefore InoGen is an enterprise that promises to bridge the imbalance by creating enthusiasm and awareness about science subjects for girls in Ugandan schools. This will be done by creating practical workshops and mentorship programs for the girls. In these workshops, InoGen will guide the girls to build and program products that can finally be sold.

We are an enterprise that supports, mentors, and empowers girls in Uganda to join the exciting field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). We are inspiring the next generation of female aerospace engineers, doctors, mathematicians, among others. Join us on this journey as we make STEM more stimulating and equitable.
