A few words about

Nakamatte Hajjarah

Hajjarah is an ambitious Ugandan girl passionate about medicine. She believes there is not enough medical infrastructure in Uganda to offset the demand for proper health. Hence, she envisions building her own hospital and other medical centers, if possible, after pursuing her Ph.D. studies and acquiring experience from a hospital she will be employed in. Her passion for the medical sector feeds into her compassion for those lacking proper health care. Currently, she is taking nursing courses for one year and a half before attending her undergrad school later on.

Although Hajjarah is an introverted person, she enjoys talking to people with whom she has trust. Hajjarah is also interested in humanitarian activities. Hence, she looks forward to once working or being interned in an orphanage.

What areas the mentee is looking for support in?

Hajjarah considers two areas to get support in. She believes that being empowered with entrepreneurial skills and     communication skills will be an asset for her ambition to embrace a medical career. She also considers crucial the support in getting internships since these will help her experiment with the practical side of medicine.

Where would the mentee like to see herself in three year's time?

Hajjarah considers that she will be in school after three years from now. However, she looks up to having a rich curriculum in terms of academics and professional experience by the time she finishes school. After getting her Ph.D. in medicine, she is looking forward to owning a hospital and being one of the most prominent philanthropists in Uganda.

What would the mentee like to get from mentoring?

Hajjarah believes in having more than she expected with InoGen. Although there are certain personal skills she needs to acquire from the program, she feels already filled by what she gets from the program. She is extremely thankful to InoGen for offering her such an opportunity.
